November 2009:

Subject: Important Notice by CASA’s Board of Directors

Attention to all afghan athletes that are involved in the events that are organized by CASA.

With great disappointment, we would like to inform all the athletes that Season II of the “Canadian Afghan Basketball League” has been officially cancelled.

The following are the reasons for making such a difficult decision.
- The team’s lack of management to pay the registration fees.
- The recent arguments and disputes by the participating teams.
- Disrespecting the opponents and officials.
- Damaging the facilities and uncleanness of the courts after each game.
- Teams not showing up to the games on time.
- Not respecting the Rules & Regulations.
- Incomplete registration forms.

As you are all aware that Canadian Afghan Sports Association is a registered Non-profit organization that is working toward the benefit of Afghan community and not for the self-interest.

CASA is the only Afghan sport association ever in Canada that organizes Afghan sporting events throughout the whole year.

As organizers, we have created every possible opportunity for our afghan athletes in terms of sport and have tried to provide guidance to the young afghan athletes.

Due to the lack of appreciations for CASA’s hard work and efforts and the reasons mentioned above, we came to the conclusion to cancel the Season II of the "Canadian Afghan Basketball League" and the future basketball events like the upcoming Canadian Afghan Cup – Indoor Basketball Tournament in January 2010.

Regards,
Board of Directors
Canadian Afghan Sports Associations
